Brian attended the University of Toronto, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975 and his Bachelor of LawS degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1978. He was called to the Bar in 1980. He received his certification from the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in civil litigation in 1997.
Brian has specialized throughout his career in general civil litigation and insurance law, including personal injury, products liability, occupier's liability, professional negligence and employment and commercial litigation. He has particular expertise in the handling of cases involving arson, insurance fraud and insurance coverage issues. He has extensive Courtroom experience having appeared before all levels of the Courts in Ontario. He is a strong advocate of Alternative Dispute Resolution. He is certified as an arbitrator by the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Ontario and has received mediation training through The Centre for Dispute Resolution at Boulder, Colorado.
He is a member of the Advocates' Society, the Waterloo Law Association and the Ontario Bar Association, the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Ontario, the Ontario Insurance Adjusters' Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Brian lives in Waterloo with his wife and two children. When he can find the time, he likes to spend it with his family, skiing, golfing and boating.
