Scott graduated from Queen's University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1962. After working in business for one year he returned to Queen's and received his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1966. He was called to the bar in Ontario in 1968.
Scott's practice focuses on business and real property law as well as estate planning and estate administration. He acts as legal advisor to small business firms with respect to regular business activities and reorganizations. His practice includes responsibility for financing and real estate matters for financial institutions, small businesses and individuals. Scott also assists clients with estate planning matters, including family trusts, wills and powers of attorney as well as providing advice with respect to estate administration.
Scott is a member of the Waterloo Law and Ontario Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
Scott and his family have lived in Kitchener-Waterloo since 1972. He is an avid golfer and he and his wife enjoy travel in and outside of Canada. Scott has coached minor sports teams, has been a member of fund raising and other committees for numerous charitable and non-profit organizations and served as director of the Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club, Junior Achievement of Kitchener-Waterloo, K-W Speed Skating Club and the Ontario Speed Skating Association.
