Peter attended Trinity College at the University of Toronto, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1958. He obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1961 and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1963. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1975 and has been certified and re-certified by the Law Society as a specialist in civil litigation since the inception of the certification program in 1988.
Peter's practice focuses on civil litigation matters including insurance litigation, personal injury, products liability, professional negligence, medical malpractice, commercial and estates litigation. Peter has appeared at all levels of Court, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
He is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Advocates' Society, the Waterloo Law Association, and Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity. He is also a former member of the Board of Governors of Renison College, University of Waterloo, a former director of The Advocates Society and a former President of the Waterloo Law Association. His community involvement has included Chair of the Board of the Heart & Stroke Association, and membership on the Board of the Cancer Society.
Peter and his wife live in Eden Mills near Guelph. They enjoy skiing and golf. They have traveled extensively, including wilderness canoe tripping and enjoy all forms of outdoor activities.
